Starting his solo work back in 1975 after leaving the iconic old school group: Genesis, Peter Gabriel is a cult legend that has captivated audiences across every corner of the globe.
Over the years, he has helped move progressive rock to new heights of theatricality. From his debut solo album that dropped in 1977 to his latest i/o album, Peter Gabriel is a critically acclaimed cult artist that is no stranger to the Billboard charts with belters like his number one smash hit “Sledgehammer” and the fan favorite “Don't Give Up” featuring Kate Bush.
This year, Peter Gabriel is rolling out his first set of new material for 21 years since his first studio album of fresh material since 2002’s iconic Up. WOW! The i/o tour will feature an electric mix of his greatest hits alongside his synth-heavy new material from the i/o album.
“i/o means input / output. You see it on the back of a lot of electrical equipment and it just triggered some ideas about the stuff we put in and pull out of ourselves, in physical and non-physical ways. That was the starting point of this idea and then trying to talk about the interconnectedness of everything,” Peter Gabriel said.
Panopticom, Four Kinds Of Horses, Playing For Time, and The Court will feature in the set list alongside golden oldies such as “Solsbury Hill,” “Sledgehammer,” “In Your Eyes,” and “Biko” from his impressive back catalog.
To help him bring these tunes to life, Peter Gabriel has joined forces with long-standing bandmates Tony Levin (bass), David Rhodes (guitar), and Manu Katché (drums). They will also be joined by Ayanna Witter-Johnson (cello, piano, and vocals), Marina Moore (violin, viola, and vocals), Don McLean (keyboards), Josh Shpak (trumpet, french horn, keyboard, and vocals), and Richard Evans (guitar and flute). Now that's an impressive ensemble!
